but i read this article in the economist today that argued it is only a matter of time until china and japan exchange shots over some small islands in between the two countries, it could escalate to full scale war, and the united states is treaty bound to come to aid of japan.

on top of that the united states is making diplomatic visits to various countries borderning china in a move that is viewed extremely negatively in beijing.

Long Term Effect of Conti & Similar Cases?

i was commenting in another thread this morning and saw speculation that the conti verdict will hasten the wts' decline, beyond just the money they may have to pay in that case itself.

i have seen this mentioned a number of times and it got me thinking and doing a bit of research.

i think the speculation and hope is that it will give rise to similar lawsuits which will meet with similar success.

If erosion gives way ( like major 20/20 coverage in the near future).. there will be an "huge chunk" that will without question be un repairable........

But in my case, from what I can see so far from other forums and my family, JW's who have taken note say........" GB may have fallen apostate, but we'll wait on JA".......

On the other hand there are those who are on the brink of walking away from the WTS......
